We at MoreT Vicar love to celebrate anything – but this Sunday afternoon might be a very special day in the history of British sport.
Barring illness or injury we expect that Bradley Wiggins will be the first Englishmen to win the Tour de France . The event started in 1903 – so that would be a first in its 109 year history!
If he wins then he will have done it style and will have worn the Maillot Jaune ( leader’s yellow jersey) for nearly the whole race. What’s more he will have done it with honour – when one of his leading rivals had a puncture he slowed down the race to allow that rival to catch up. What a fine example of British sportsmanship!
